Ondanks Jos' toewijding aan haar, is Gabrielle echter diep ongelukkig en krijgt ze de kans om aan haar situatie te ontsnappen wanneer ze naar een kuuroord in de Alpen wordt gestuurd voor behandeling van een nierprobleem.
