Was lange währt, wird endlich gut: 2019 kehrte Liam Gallagher nach dem Riesenerfolg seines Debüts As You Were mit seinem mit Spannung erwarteten zweiten Soloalbum Why Me? Why Not zurück. Das Album enthält die explosive Leadsingle „Shockwave“, die von einem kraftvollen, von The Who und T. Rex inspirierten Riff getragen wird und Liams charakteristische stimmliche Intensität zur Schau stellt. Das Album wurde vollständig in Zusammenarbeit mit den Produzenten Greg Kurstin und Andrew Wyatt geschrieben – seinen treuen Mitarbeitern vom ersten Album an – und in Los Angeles und den RAK Studios in London aufgenommen. Liam wollte seine vorherigen Arbeiten übertreffen und erklärte: „Ich möchte, dass das zweite Album eine Steigerung wird, denn das Schwierigste ist, etwas Gleiches zu machen, nur besser.“
