Padraig Regan - The Matter - Gay Poetry [Paperback]

The Matter by Padraig Regan

The Poetry Book Society Autumn Choice 2026 selection, The Matter by Padraig Regan, is a profound collection that builds upon the poet's acclaimed debut. This work delves into ekphrastic concerns, shifting focus to the natural world and naturally occurring objects. Divided into three lyrical sections – Animal, Mineral, and Vegetable – the poems explore imaginative encounters with the non-human and inorganic. Regan's intense reflections on mortality and desire are presented through explorations of embodiment and formal possibilities.
