JEFF PARKER ETA IVTET - Happy Today [audioCD]

Happy Today marks the third essential album from guitarist/bandleader Jeff Parker’s established ETA IVtet. Recorded live at Lodge Room in Los Angeles on August 20, 2025, this CD captures the group’s signature sound—long-form, minimalist improvisation—expanding confidently into a larger performance space while maintaining a deeply hypnotic effect on the audience.

This release is significant as it is the first time the instantly recognizable sound of Parker and the band—featuring Jay Bellerose (drums), Anna Butterss (bass), and Josh Johnson (saxophone)—has been documented outside of the now-shuttered Highland Park micro-club ETA.

• Captures the ETA IVtet’s signature syntax of long-form, minimalist improvisation.
• Features two sidelong pieces recorded live in the round before an audience of approximately 400 listeners at Lodge Room.
• Recorded and mixed live, direct to a Nagra tape machine by engineer Bryce Gonzales using a custom-built compact outboard rig.
• Released concurrently with a full-length documentary film by Charlie Weinmann capturing the performance.
• The release coincides with Jeff Parker, Josh Johnson, and Anna Butterss touring with Flea supporting Josh Johnson’s new solo album, Honora.

This is a single audio CD release containing the album Happy Today.
