Starter Car - Afterlight [CD]

Afterlight is the debut album by Starter Car, the South London band formed by songwriter Oisean Burnett after his move from Glasgow. This one-disc CD pairs country-influenced indie with reflective songwriting about anxiety, loss and the beauty of everyday life.

Recorded and produced by Joe Futak, the album brings together the core band and guest contributions including vocals from Christie Gardner, fiddle from Sophia Bartlett and banjo from Michael Rhea. Warm harmonies and a nostalgic sound sit alongside candid, darker themes.

Opening with the lead single “Throwing Down”, the album moves through the introspective “Avert” and high-energy “Safety Net” before closing with “Kicking”, a driving song about facing life’s obstacles.
