Wishbone Ash - Wishbone Ash [Vinyl]

Wishbone Ash’s self-titled 1970 debut is reissued on 180g vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. It’s a rock album for listeners drawn to blues-rock, folk melodies and exploratory progressive elements.

The album introduced the band’s distinctive twin-lead guitar sound, with Andy Powell and Ted Turner weaving harmonised melodic lines. Its blend of hard-edged riffs, spacious passages and acoustic moments helped lay the groundwork for the band’s later classics and influenced the twin-guitar sound adopted by many rock and metal acts.

“Blind Eye” and “Queen Of Torture” balance driving riffs with reflective passages, while the acoustic moments bring a pastoral feel to the album.
