Elanor Moss - The Knife, The Needle [CD]

Elanor Moss's debut full-length album, 'The Knife, The Needle,' is a deeply personal and healing journey. After extensive touring for her EPs 'Citrus' (2022) and 'Cosmic' (2023), Moss found herself recalibrating her approach to songwriting. This period of introspection led her back to the folk and contemporary folk music that profoundly moved her, inspiring a return to her roots.

Crafted over three years, the album reflects Moss's exploration of her family history, personal relationships, and the complex nature of love. The music is characterized by delicate guitar work and thoughtful arrangements, often featuring an ensemble that adds heart-rending gravitas to her narratives.

The album delves into how relationships are transformed and complicated by love, exploring themes of healing, harm, and reconciliation. Tracks like 'Sarah Waiting in the Car' navigate the aftermath of difficult experiences, while songs such as 'Fixer' question the duality of love's power to both wound and mend, contemplating whether perceived harm can be reinterpreted as a means of healing.
