Pale Rider (1985) - Western Drama [DVD]

Clint Eastwood directs, produces and stars in this gritty revival of the Western genre. When a community of gold mining prospectors faces violent attacks from a ruthless gang determined to seize their land, young Megan Wheeler (Sydney Penny) prays for salvation. Her plea is answered by the arrival of the Preacher (Eastwood), a mysterious and silent stranger who rides into town wearing a clerical collar. Taking up the miners' cause, the enigmatic figure becomes either an agent of death or an angel of mercy, standing against the tyrannical local mining tycoon (Richard Dysart) and his hired guns. Inspired by classics like Shane and High Noon, this powerful tale follows the underdog fight for justice in the lawless frontier.
